Energy efficiency provides the powerful and economically reasonable tool for achievement of stable future in terms of energy. Improvement of energy efficiency may lead to decrease in the need for additional investments into the energy generation and transportation infrastructure, reduce expenses for energy resources, improve health of citizens and prosperity of consumers, and increase competitiveness.
November 4, 2014, taking into account state interests of Ukraine and its citizens, being ruled by the Constitution of Ukraine and applicable legislation of Ukraine, international regulations and obligations of Ukraine regarding their implementation, being aware of necessity to unite efforts for the purpose of consistent measures in the sphere of energy efficiency that will definitely change Ukraine, responsible partnership interfacing between the society and governmental branches, signed a Memorandum of Association of Experts on the Energy Efficiency Policy.
In order to accelerate reforms in Ukraine, foster the development of the institutions, responsible ensuring energy security and to assist Ukraine in the implementation of EU directives, the Public Organization "Expert Platform for Energy Efficiency" was established. Platform was set up by the experts who have significant practical and managerial experience in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy.
The Experts have agreed to consider cooperation to be the tool of establishment, improvement and implementation of the consistent state policy in the sphere of energy efficiency and conservation as well efficient energy production from renewable energy sources and alternative fuel types.
The Experts deem it expedient to cooperate for the purpose of performance of common tasks and interests with respective organisations and institutions of the United Nations, European Union, Ukraine and Ukraine-friendly countries as well as physical persons and legal entities interested in establishment of energy independent Ukraine.

SEF-2015 Kyiv Energy Arsenal to Present Solutions for Autonomous Power Supply of Industrial and Private Consumers of Ukraine
‘Energy Arsenal’ will be held this autumn in the capital of Ukraine for the first time.
SEF-2015 Kyiv, the 7th International Sustainable Energy Forum and Exhibition on “Independent Power Supply, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy of Ukraine” will be held on 14-15 October 2015 in a famous exhibition centre of NSC “Olimpiyskiy” located in Kyiv downtown.
Order No. 120 from May 29, 2015 of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Utility Services of Ukraine cancelled issuance of the certificates to provide energy audit services, which is the necessary condition to provide energy audit services on the public sector objects.

Experts welcome the Government's decision on reducing norms of unreasonable gas cancellation costs for demands of public
Experts of the Platform welcome the decision of the Government of Ukraine to meet the requirements of the public and expert community on reducing overestimated norms of gas consumption by public without metering devices. We look forward to continue the practice in heat energy and water supply questions. We consider that this will lead to early solution of the problem concerning full/complete/general instrumental metering of energy consumption in Ukraine.
On April, 7th, 2015 was held regular general meeting of the Platform regarding the tariff policy. Following the discussion, the Experts reached a decision, that the only way to provide sustainable mitigating effect due to the rise in prices and tariffs on energy resources is the affordable and efficient system of targeted credits and financial tools to support the measures aimed to reduce energy demand by means of increasing energy efficiency in buildings of Ukrainian citizens.
On February, 25 in Oslo it was held the discussion of the situation in energy sector that emerged as a result of military actions on the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. In discussion participated representatives of state bodies, NGOs and business of Ukraine and Norway.
Oleksii Khabatiuk, Deputy Head of The Expert Platform for Energy Efficiency (ExPE), presented to participants of the meeting his vision of current situation and principal positions which/that must be constantly kept in the area of attention:
- physical protection of power facilities (thermal power plants, hydropower plants, nuclear power plants) and elements of infrastructure (backbone electric power transmission and electric substation, cross-country gas pipelines and gas compressor stations, main railway lines);
- fuel supply to thermal station;
- accumulation of gas in underground storage facilities for heating season 2015/2016.
The experts of public organization “ExPE” prepared the Concept of the Law of Ukraine “On efficient use of fuel and energy resources”
The experts of public organization “The Expert Platform for Energy Efficiency” developed and officially addressed to the attention of Hennadii Zubko (Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine) the draft Concept of the Law of Ukraine “On efficient use of fuel and energy resources” for examination and further decision-making for approval by the Cabinet of Minister of Ukraine.
On January 16, 2015, in order to expand cooperation with representatives of French business community in energy sphere was held the meeting between ExPE coordinator Igor Cherkashyn, co-facilitator of the sector of renewable energy engineering of ExPE, Eduard Kulbak, and the Head of BETEN International Mr. Jean Roche.
Igor Cherkashyn , the Head-coordinator of public organization "The Expert Platform for Energy Efficiency" held a meeting with the Director of GIZ project "Establishment of energy agencies in Ukraine", Robert Künne. During the meeting parties discussed the prospects of joint-cooperation regarding the project implementation on development of regional energy agencies both in pilot Oblasts, which were selected by GIZ, and in other Oblasts of Ukraine that expressed their interest in structuring process of the regional energy efficiency policy and renewable energy development based on best European practices.
